Sharing the rules of engagement with those you have relationship with can be incredibly helpful – both people can be working to the same goal with the same rules.

Fantastic pointers so I’ve printed it out to keep handy when needing my ‘Rules of Engagement’. At times it feels like I’m tip toeing through a minefield. You say it’s white…they say its black. Definitely becomes a power struggle which is very tiresome and energy draining.

When a situation starts to get out of control you do say things that you wished you hadn’t… I know I have. Words said cannot be undone…but I have apologized for the outburst.

Its so true that you need to place the emphasis on ‘I’ and not ‘You’. I’m off to practice my long and slow deep breathing!
